Mech Tech Carbine Kit

Any of you readers have some experience with this kit that you'd like to share?

I have a Glock that I think would absolutely love to be fitted with this kit.

My thoughts : It's cheaper than a Kel-Tec Sub2000. I've already got 33 rnd extended mags. I'm not into guns that fold in half (Kel-Tec Sub2000). 9mm in a Carbine is cheap to shoot. Side charging is cool as shit. I can pick up a Glock frame and dedicate it to this kit for cheap.

Lay it on me if you have some words on this kit.

  1. I have two, one each for Glock and 1911.
    Cons
They are muzzle heavy. If you get the M4 style stock you can add lead shot to the buffer tube for balance.
    Difficult dis-assembly, use a Boresnake.

    Pros,
Reliable. I don't remember the Glock malfunctioning, ever. The 1911, rarely.
Accurate enough for steel plates at 100 yds.
    Stupidly fun, especially with hi-caps.

    1. Sodbuster, I'm in. I think it'd be a neat thing to have, especially since you'd have a pistol series that shares the same magazines.

  2. I've read that the ATF considers a pistol always a pistol and that putting a shoulder stock on a pistol, even with a long barrel, makes it an SBR - have you read anything on the legality of these kits as a non-NFA item?
